The first green circular low-carbon highway in China; One of the thematic pilot projects of green circular low-carbon highway of the Ministry of Transport in 2013. Centering on the planning, design, construction, construction, maintenance, operation and management of the project, JSTI has recommended and applied more than 30 new materials, new technologies and new processes for energy conservation and emission reduction to construct the green circulating low-carbon Nanjing-Xuancheng Expressway in the whole process, in all aspects and in all fields.
Innovation Points
1. Energy Saving and Emission Reduction in the whole Life Cycle

Planning and Design Phase: The project incorporates the concept of green cycle and low carbon from the beginning of planning, and minimizes the impact on the natural environment through scientific and reasonable route planning, land use optimization, ecological sensitive area avoidance and other measures. At the same time, energy-saving designs, such as solar lighting, rainwater collection systems, etc., are used to reduce energy consumption and emissions from the source.

Construction Phase: By adopting low-carbon materials, environmental protection technology and refined construction management, such as using new materials such as recycled asphalt and warm-mixed asphalt, and promoting efficient construction methods such as prefabricated assembly construction and mechanized operation, the energy consumption and carbon emission in the construction process are effectively reduced. In addition, strict dust control and waste recycling system also further improve the environmental protection level of the project.

Operation and Maintenance Stage: The project has established a perfect operation energy-saving management system, and realized the efficient management and maintenance of highway facilities through intelligent monitoring, energy efficiency management, green lighting. At the same time, this project pays attention to the greening and beautification along the highway, and improve the ecological environment quality of the highway.

Nanjing-Xuancheng green circular low-carbon highway project has made bold innovations in management mode and system construction, forming a complete set of green low-carbon highway construction management system.
